There are ‘bricks and mortar’ exhibitions still out there waiting for national restrictions to be lifted and visitors welcomed. Hopefully not too long before we can all get a much needed ‘art fix’ in a real building.
I have two pieces showing in Fabric of the North at Kirkleatham Museam. The museum is lovely and worth spending a couple of hours there. It’s not far from Saltburn-On-Sea, a lovely victorian spa town, and just down the road is Redcar where you can find the Palace Art Gallery. If restrictions permit it’s worth making a day out of it.
Fabric of the North brings together works by members of the British Tapestry Group, in a range of styles and techniques, large and small, with a single theme: our Northern heritage. The exhibition is open now at Kirkleatham Museum, a magnificent Queen Anne building near Redcar in Teesside (UK).
The exhibition has been extended until 30 April 2021. Travel restrictions may be in place so please do check before visiting.
