My small tapestry, Peg Plan, has received an award, and I’m absolutely thrilled. It was especially lovely to read the judge’s comments about the work:
The judges praised ‘Peg Plan’ for its compelling concept and technical skill,
recognising a work that pushes the boundaries of contemporary tapestry.
The innovative use of found and formed materials, alongside a
sophisticated sculptural approach that invites viewing in the round, creates
a powerful dialogue between textile history and its future. ‘Peg Plan’ Evokes
both an archaeological remnant and a post-industrial artefact, with every
element feeling deliberate and integral to the work’s meaning.
Peg Plan is currently on show alongside the other finalists at the Australian Tapestry Workshop in Melbourne until 16 January 2027.
